In early October, Dubai hosted the inaugural 2016 Connected PE Conference. The conference united Physical Educators from across the globe to explore topics ranging from 21st Century PE to how to best integrate technology into the PE environment, all with a common goal of benefitting student learning. Amongst the many valuable sessions of activity and discussion, personal highlights included Dale Sidebottom (Energetic Education/Cricket Australia), Adam Llevo (The PE Umbrella), Nathan Horne (iPhys-Ed.com) and keynote addresses from Dr. Dean Dudley (Macquarie University) and Naomi Hartl (SPARK Programes).
Technology is now an integral part of education, PE included. A few key tools we use in our current practice at KICS include but are not limited to:
Google Docs & Forms – cooperative learning, reflective practice, research and inquiry, feedback, pre-assessment, flipped learning, goal setting & tracking,
Apps – Kahoot, iMuscle, Socrative, i-Nigma, Loop it, MyPlate, Hudl, Smiling Mind, MyHomework, Teacher.io, iMuscle, Team Shake, Comic Life, Coach’s Eye, iMovie
Platforms – Moodle, ManageBac, WordPress, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook
