Hello/Kia Ora! Thank you for visiting our family blog as we travel around the world in pursuit of our passion for international teaching, cultural diversity and outdoor adventure. What started as two solo teaching posts in Kuwait for a Canadian and Kiwi has now evolved into a lifelong partnership with the addition of our precious son, Finn Joseph Lynch (08/25/15) and twin boys Jack and Oscar (07/06/17). We look forward to sharing our memories and experiences with you and hope you enjoy reading about our life abroad!

Amy: Originally from the beautiful city of Ottawa, Canada, I have now been abroad for seven years. I attended the University of Ottawa where I obtained a Baccalaureate in Science, with honors in Human Kinetics and a Bachelor of Education. Soon after graduating I spent the next three years at the American International School of Kuwait teaching MYP PE, Fitness and Strength Training to years 7-13. In the summer of 2013, Jamie and I married before coming to Khartoum as Head of Physical Education at the Khartoum International Community School and spent the past year fulfilling the role of IMYC Project Coordinator as we rolled out a new Middle Years curriculum. My passion for coaching stems from an enriched childhood of participation in sport which has carried into adulthood. I love being active and continue to take part in fitness training, football/soccer, hiking and swimming. Travel, music and food keep me happy as do my incredibly loving and supportive family and friends in Canada, New Zealand and around the world.

Jamie: I was born and raised in the stunning South island of New Zealand. Having a twin brother, life was always competitive and along with my twin brother Daniel, we were extremely fortunate to attend Palmerston North Boys’ High School where our love for sport and competition blossomed. This passion to compete and train eventually lead me to pursue a career in Physical Education. After graduating from the University of Canterbury with a degree in Physical Education, I was fortunate to work at Trident High School in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, where I developed my passion for coaching, especially Volleyball. After a short trip through South America, I then moved to Kuwait where I met my wonderful wife Amy, whilst teaching at the American International School of Kuwait. After three great years, it was time to move and we have been at Khartoum International Community School ever since. I have been teaching both Middle School and high School PE along with coaching Track and Field, Basketball and Volleyball.
